SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:
As a person called to a life of faith and service, Day of Birth, LLC is committed to equipping you so that you may help those you serve make meaning out of life events and process through its transitions, as well as cope with its potentially lasting effects. This training seminar will include plenaries, personal survivor vignettes, and small group discussions that will cover an array of topics such as:
What is Pastoral Care? The Nature of Trauma and its Effects Understanding a Pastor’s Role as First Responder Discerning Deflecting Wounds Understanding the Tremors of Trauma in: Bereavement: Death, Dying + Loss Chronic + Terminal Illnesses Marriage + Relationships Ministry: Asking + Accepting Accountability
This is not a church service. It will be informal, yet informative; unique and unlike any other religious affiliated event you have attended. It will be a time to speak to you not only as a pastor and/or church leader, but as a person. We will dissect real and relevant issues that confront us and those we serve on a daily basis. It will be a place created for you to reflect on yourself and the reorientation of the ministry that God has called you to. It will be an opportunity for you to meet and dialogue with others who are committed to provide their best service through care for God's people.
